Figures published this week underscore the scale of UK Government support for the self-employed across Mid & West Wales.
In total, more than £160 billion of Government support has been provided to help individuals and businesses across the UK via the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme
In Brecon and Radnorshire, for example, 3100 self-employed people accessed £7,500,000 worth of Government grants. These grants do not need to be paid back and will help to cover lost earnings.
This is in addition to the support given to self-employed workers through the first grant – worth £13,200,000 to self-employed businesses in Brecon and Radnorshire.
Commenting on the latest figures, Tomos Dafydd Davies said:
These latest figures demonstrate the scale of support that the Conservative Government has put in place to support livelihoods right across Wales.
I am pleased that no stone will be left unturned by the Conservative Government in protecting jobs and businesses through these exceptionally challenging times.”
