My Priorities | Fy Mlaenoriaethau

I am determined to secure a better future for Mid & West Wales, making it an even better place to live, work and raise a family. As your Senedd member, these are the causes that I will champion:

  1. Back the Welsh farming sector

The agricultural sector faces huge challenges, not least the uncertainty caused by delaying Brexit. This is further complicated by the Welsh Government’s approach to the future of the Basic Payment Scheme. I believe there is a positive future for Wales' beef and sheep farmers outside the EU. Our farmers produce some of the finest produce in the land and are poised to capitalize from the opportunities presented by an independent trade policy if empowered to do so by Government.

  1. Campaign for improved broadband and mobile coverage

Access to better broadband and phone signal is vital for residents and businesses, particularly in rural Wales. Mid & West Wales must not be left behind and should be front and centre of the Government's infrastructure revolution.

  1. Invest in education

The Welsh Government continues to severely underfund rural schools, whilst educational attainment continues to lag the other home nations. As a parent, I want every child to be offered the broadest possible curriculum and to be able to achieve their full potential.

  1. Back Business and Cut Taxes

The post-Covid economic recovery will be a business-led recovery. Only Conservatives understand the importance of backing business and championing free enterprise. I back business-rate relief for SMEs and a temporary VAT exemption for our tourism sector.

  1. Stand up for the Union

Wales derives huge benefits from its membership of the Union. I believe in a strong Wales within a strong United Kingdom.

Rwy'n benderfynol o sicrhau dyfodol llewyrchus i Ganolbarth a Gorllewin Cymru, gan ei wneud yn lle gwell fyth i fyw, gweithio a magu teulu. Fel eich aelod Senedd, dyma'r achosion y byddaf yn eu hyrwyddo:

  1. Cefnogi Ffermwyr Cymru

Mae'r sector amaethyddol yn wynebu heriau enfawr, yn anad dim yr ansicrwydd a achoswyd gan ohirio Brexit. Cymhlethir hyn ymhellach gan agwedd Llywodraeth Cymru tuag at ddyfodol y Cynllun Taliadau Sylfaenol. Mae dyfodol cadarnhaol i ffermwyr cig eidion a defaid Cymru y tu allan i'r Undeb Ewropeaidd. Mae ein ffermwyr yn gyfrifol am gynhyrchu’r cynnyrch gorau yn y byd ac yn barod i elwa o'r cyfleoedd a gyflwynir gan bolisi masnach annibynnol.

  1. Ymgyrchu am well darpariaeth band eang

Mae mynediad at fand eang a signal ffôn yn hanfodol i drigolion a busnesau, yn enwedig yng nghefn gwlad Cymru. Dwi am weld y rhanbarth yn ganolbwynt chwyldro seilwaith y Llywodraeth. Rhaid peidio â gadael Canolbarth a Gorllewin Cymru ar ôl.

  1. Buddsoddi mewn ysgolion

Mae Llywodraeth Cymru yn parhau i danariannu ysgolion gwledig yn ddifrifol, tra bod cyrhaeddiad addysgol yn parhau i lusgo'r gwledydd cartref eraill. Fel rhiant, rwyf am i bob plentyn gael cynnig y cwricwlwm ehangaf posibl a’r cyfle i wireddu eu potensial.

  1. Cefnogi Busnessau Bychain a Thorri Trethi

Mi fydd yr adferiad economaidd wedi Covid yn adferiad a arweinir gan fusnes. Dim ond y Ceidwadwyr sy'n deall pwysigrwydd cefnogi busnes a hyrwyddo mentergarwch. Rwy'n cefnogi tori cyfraddau busnes i fusnesau bach a chanolig yn ogystal ag eithrio’r sector dwristiaeth rhag talu TAW.

  1. Diogelu Llais Cymru o fewn yr Undeb

Mae Cymru yn elwa yn aruthrol o’i haelodaeth o’r Undeb. Dwi am weld Cymru gref o fewn Teyrnas Unedig gref.
